Too Soon

Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.

The leaves on a branch of our maple tree began turning beautiful shades of orange this week. When I saw them I cried out “it’s too soon”. I am not ready for summer to end. How many times in the past 2 years have I cried out those exact words to God in my prayers “it’s too soon”? If you have ever questioned God’s perfect timing, read through the entire third chapter of Ecclesiastes. Verse 4 states a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. Life is about all the feels no matter how heavy they can be. On the days we long for summer, know that God’s timing is perfect even when we can’t see it on this side of heaven.
