From the Beginning

Matthew 1:1 – A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the son of David, the son of Abraham:

Hi!  This is my first time blogging. I have so many amazing things I want to share with women about Jesus’ love, but wasn’t sure where to start. So, I decided to start at the beginning of the New Testament with Matthew 1:1.

OK – Let’s be honest…. who reads the first 16 verses of Matthew? Do you open your Bible and skip right to verse 17? Today I want you to slow down and read those first 16 verse.

The New Testament begins with listing the entire lineage between Abraham in the Old Testament and Jesus who is born to Mary and Joseph in the New Testament.

Have you ever researched your ancestry? How far back can you list the women in your family? How have those women in your lineage worked for the further expansion of Christ’s Kingdom? Only one woman was called to be the Mother of Jesus. God has called you too. Will you listen to his calling? How will you respond?
