Steeking Fear
Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
This week’s creative project was to finish a rug I have been knitting for a full year. Actually, I could only work on this 100% wool project during cold months because it is too much to hold this tube of color work when it is hot. Anyways, the knitting is complete. I used the top load agitating washing machine at work to felt the rug. Then came the scary part, steeking! Steeking is the process of cutting your knitting without unraveling your completed work. It was terrifying to say the least.
God’s words in Isaiah are comforting, even during knitting! Do not fear anything for God is with you. He is the strength that will hold you through all circumstances. Do not fear for FEAR is only False Evidence Appearing Real. God upholds you with TRUTH.
The steeking went off without a hitch. My newly made rug of many colors has been proudly placed at the entrance of my studio. It reminds me of God’s faithfulness every time I walk through the door.
