It Is Finished

John 19:28-30 Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

This past week we entered the season of Lent. The time of the year when we draw close to Jesus as we walk along side him on his journey to the cross. We also look at the purposeful life he lived well, while here on earth with us.

I feel called to write. (so thank you to all of you who read the words I write every week) I spent this past week in Colorado with our daughter Hannah. She needed to be in Fort Collins for work events and asked if I would like to meet here. Of course, I said yes! We had the most wonderful week. We talked, laughed and caught up over dinner every evening. And during the day, I wrote. I was given the luxury of writing every day without interruption. I was able to finish my second book “Women Walking In The Word“. It feels amazing to have this important book written.

What has God called you to finish during the short time you have on this earth? Lent is the perfect time to begin taking the first steps needed to complete the work he has called you to do. God bless your journey through this Lenten season.
