Love Day
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Do you have a favorite “love” Bible verse? My favorite is actually the entire chapter of 1 Corinthians 13. I memorized those verses in catechism class as a teenager with Mr. Hiemstra. The same verses of love were read at our wedding. The word love can be found 319 times in the Old Testament and 232 times in the New Testament of the New International Version (NIV) Bible. Love, is not an accident. Love, is not a suggestion. Love, is a command from God. Love, is important.
Wednesday is Valentines day. It is easy to say I love you, especially on Love Day. But how will you do love throughout the year? Let’s make love a priority in 2018!
