Lead My People

Exodus 15:19-20 When Pharaoh’s horses, chariots and horsemen went into the sea, the Lord brought the waters of the sea back over them, but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground. Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s (and Moses’) sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her, with tambourines and dancing.

Miriam was on the journey to the promised land alongside her brothers, Moses and Aaron. They have spent years in the wilderness living in tents. The moral among the people was low as they lashed out and questioned their decision to leave Egypt. Instead of going with the flow and falling into the same mindset, Miriam leads the women. She leads God’s people with music and dancing and singing. What an incredible way to lift spirits in the camp. I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone this week to joyfully lead God’s people.
