Luke 10:38-42 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
When the temperatures drop and the snow falls, it forces life to slow down. And, I am not going to lie…. I love snow days! So, how do you spend those winter days when you are stuck inside? It is definitely an ideal time to clean out a few cupboards, organize a closet or pick up a craft project that has been sitting unfinished far too long. Getting things done is not a bad thing. But taking time from our busyness to sit at Jesus feet is better. You will become refueled and ready to tackle your long to-do list. I pray that you spend a little more Mary time with the Lord during Martha weather this winter.
Thank you for the encouraging word.
