Delegate

Acts 6:2-4 So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.“

No matter how hard we try, no one can do it all by themselves. It has taken me years to learn to delegate tasks. And I was almost there when I was working full time. But when I retired, I went back to thinking I would have time to do everything. I don’t. So today I am grateful for the help planting flowers, pulling weeds, and picking up after a big weekend sale so that I can spend my upcoming week with the children at VBS giving my attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.
